The Weaving
Our journey begins in the homes of indigenous weavers in Southern Philippines. Using traditional backstrap looms, they create intricate patterns that have been passed down for generations.
Each fabric tells a story — from T'nalak patterns dreamed by the weaver to Yakan geometrics representing community and nature. This process can take weeks for a single piece of fabric.
Leather Selection
We source only premium full-grain leather from responsible tanneries. Our leather artisans carefully inspect each hide, selecting pieces with the ideal texture, color consistency, and durability.
Full-grain leather is the highest quality available — it retains the natural grain, making each piece unique and allowing it to develop a beautiful patina over time.
Pattern & Cutting
Each design is carefully planned to showcase the woven fabric while maintaining structural integrity. Our pattern makers consider how the weaving pattern will align, ensuring visual harmony.
Cutting is done by hand, with artisans accounting for the natural variations in both the leather and the woven fabric to minimize waste while maximizing beauty.
Assembly & Stitching
This is where leather meets weaving. Our artisans carefully integrate the woven panels with the leather structure, ensuring perfect alignment and secure attachment.
We use high-quality waxed thread and reinforced stitching at all stress points. Each stitch is placed with precision, creating seams that are both beautiful and built to last.
Finishing
The final touches make all the difference. Edges are burnished and painted for a clean finish. Hardware is attached with reinforced backing. Every detail is inspected.
